Ben Gauslin

Ben is an architect by training, but finds himself constantly drawn to what it is that makes the Web tick. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Virginia Tech, where he also taught first-year design lab for a few years. Ben practiced architecture in Chicago with Shafer Architects and STL Architects for nearly a decade while dabbling in code on the side. He relocated to New Orleans post-Katrina, where he spent his first two years in recovery work: he helped rebuild the House of Dance and Feathers; was recognized as a Semi-Finalist with two bandmates in the Brad Pitt/Global Green design competition; and was the 2007 Jane Jacobs Fellow, where he assisted residents of the Lower Ninth Ward in their rebuilding efforts. He has also built an awful lot of websites, all of them driven by Web standards and accessibility guidelines. E-mail Ben
