About the Studio

Planted firmly in the heart of New Orleans, Zande+Newman Design is focused on the craft of visual identity: capturing the character of our clients’ projects and translating these into tangible, compelling, and self-evident visual design. We work in many media and materials: print and pixels, as well as plexiglass, stainless steel and load-bearing limestone. But we also never underestimate the simple power of the written word.
The architectural training of Zande+Newman’s two principals allows us to move outside the bounds of conventional graphic design, unfolding our clients’ visual identities beyond print and web into three dimensions and the built environment. This ability to work seamlessly across an array of media allows us to provide our clients with integrated visual identities: business cards, letterhead, marketing materials, websites, architectural graphics and environments hang together creating a unified brand.
As an intentionally small studio, we thrive on creative collaborations. We work closely with our clients to ensure that our solutions address their needs and speak to their audiences. Often we act as project leaders—assembling the appropriate team of craftspeople, printers, web developers, photographers, or landscape architects. Other times we are simply engaged solo for a single area of expertise—to handle the signs on an architectural project, to create visual energy in a retail space, or to craft a new trademark—but collaboration with the client is always part of our process.
The vibrancy of living and working in New Orleans informs our process and our design. That doesn’t mean we plaster fleur-de-lis and trumpets on every brochure. But this aesthetically and culturally rich port city is a candy store for the creative spirit. So we’re still here. Helping to rebuild our city while working on compelling projects for our clients—here and across the country. E-mail us.
